Qinglan Expressway, Changzhi to Yan'an Connector, Lihuo Section: Unveiling Vehicle Overtemperature Monitoring Technology

The Qinglan Expressway section from Licheng to Huozhou has implemented a vehicle overheating monitoring system, further enhancing safety for drivers and passengers.

Recently, a significant safety upgrade has been implemented on the Licheng to Huozhou section of the Qinglan National Expressway (G2211) in Shanxi Province – a vehicle overheating monitoring system. The system's activation will effectively improve highway safety and provide a safer and more reliable travel environment for passing vehicles.

The Qinglan Expressway section from Licheng to Huozhou spans 150.548 kilometers. It's a crucial component of the "6th horizontal line" in the national expressway network plan and the "10th horizontal line" in Shanxi Province's expressway network plan. It runs from east to west, passing through Licheng County, Luzhou District, Xiangyuan County, Qinyuan County, and Qinyuan County in Changzhi City, and Gu County and Huozhou City in Linfen City. The terrain is complex, including many long uphill sections and tunnels. Large trucks, with their engines under prolonged high load and frequent tire-road friction, often experience overheating, posing significant risks to road safety.

The newly implemented vehicle overheating monitoring system utilizes advanced infrared thermal imaging technology and intelligent data analysis algorithms to monitor the temperature of key vehicle components such as tires, brake discs, and engines in real-time and with precision. When the system detects a temperature exceeding the safety threshold in any part of a vehicle, it immediately issues warnings to the driver and highway management authorities via audible and visual alarms and SMS notifications. This prompts drivers to take cooling measures, preventing fires, tire blowouts, and other serious accidents caused by overheating.

To ensure stable system operation and effective warnings, the highway management department has established a comprehensive emergency response mechanism. Upon receiving an overheating warning, staff will quickly contact the driver, guiding them to safely park in a nearby service area or emergency lane, and providing necessary technical support and assistance. The department will also record and analyze data from overheating vehicles to identify potential safety hazards and optimize system warning parameters and response procedures.

The implementation of the vehicle overheating monitoring system represents a significant innovation and breakthrough in road safety management on the Licheng to Huozhou section of the Qinglan Expressway. The highway management department will continue to monitor the system's operation, continuously optimizing and improving its functions to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers.
