What is the imaging principle of a thermal imager?

In nature, temperatures above absolute zero ( -273°C ) all objects can emit electromagnetic radiation. Thermal imaging primarily detects in the thermal infrared band ( 8μm-14μm ) infrared light to detect the thermal radiation emitted by objects. Once thermal radiation is detected, it is converted into grayscale values, and the differences in grayscale values among objects are used to locate and identify targets.
