Jiangxi’s first smart highway, the Ningding Expressway, has been completed.
During this year’s National Day holiday, the Ningdu–Dingnan Expressway in Jiangxi Province, the province’s first smart highway, showcased a range of intelligent services. At the Sanbai Mountain Service Area, information boards provide advance notice of traffic flow and available parking spaces, while the entrance features smart parking guidance and offers free Wi‑Fi and self-service kiosks for real-time inquiries. Specialized monitoring equipment on key road segments tracks truck conditions in real time and issues timely alerts when temperature or pressure thresholds are exceeded. Additionally, a rapid emergency rescue system enables precise accident location, anticipates congestion, and directs traffic diversions.

During the National Day holiday, Jiangxi Province’s first smart highway—the Ningding Expressway—was unveiled. It connects sections of the Changning and Daguan Expressways. The Sanbai Mountain service area features intelligent navigation and other functions; special road segments are equipped with monitoring and alert systems; and rapid emergency response services are also available.

The Shihuang Expressway Management Office plans to invest over 50 million yuan to install a surveillance system by the end of October this year. For the first time, the system will employ laser-based night‑vision technology, enabling 24‑hour, blind‑spot‑free monitoring.
